Meet Philippa Scott, our new Lead Community Advisor

We're very pleased to introduce you all to Philippa, who joined us as Lead Community Advisor on Tuesday 19 November.

Philippa originally trained as an occupational therapist and has worked in a range of roles since then, including management. She's a real people person who is looking forward to working to support and enable People with MS.

Phillipa will be meeting everyone over the next few months and many of you will get to meet her at a Christmas lunch near you early next month.

Mark the Date: Round the Bays, Wellington

Next year on 16 February 2025 Wellington MS will be one of the charity partners for Round the Bays.

We're looking forward to being part of such a great event and are sure we can count on the support. You don't have to have MS to join us and we hope that family, whanau, friends, colleagues, neighbours and everyone will come and join in the fun! There are a range of options to choose from, including all abilities. You can set up your own team, or join someone else's or go it alone and every fundraiser gets their own webpage to customise - and let the sponsorships and donations roll in. You can even compete against your friend's teams.

If you are planning on taking part, please book your tickets through our platform if you can at https://rtbwellington25.grassrootz.com/wellington-ms. If you have any problems get in touch and we'll do our best to help.

There are lots of other ways you can support too, from sponsoring individual competitors to cheering from the sidelines on the day.

More information will be on our website shortly, see https://mswellington.org.nz/about-us/new-news-page/2025-wellington-round-the-bays-join-the-movement-and-support-wms/.

Thanks for supporting our Collection!

The collection seems a while ago now although it was only two months.

If you didn't already hear the wonderful news, we're very pleased to advise that the collection raised $7,898 towards the vital mobile service we provide, which enables PwMS and their families to live their best lives. Thanks to everyone who collected, made a donation, hosted a site or did some baking and helped to spread the word.

We're very grateful for your help every year, especially when this year is proving challenging for many. We've started planning for next year too.

Thanks to Trust House Foundation

WMS is extremely grateful to Trust House Foundation Limited, which has generously granted $2000 towards our Wairarapa Community Advisory Service.

It is regular funders such as Trust House Foundation Ltd that provide a solid foundation of funding that we can depend on year after year, even when times are challenging.

You can find out more about our funders on our website at mswellington.org.nz/support-us/.

Thanks to Glen Sullivan and Wellington's Gotham Knights

We're so grateful to Glen and Wellington's Gotham Knights, who fundraise to support our important mahi every year at Spring into Tawa - come rain, hail or shine.

Thankfully this year the sun was shining, which meant a bumper turnout to this great family event. The team raised an amazing $307 on the day too, which will go towards our work enabling people with MS in greater Wellington to live their best lives. We've already shared some photos on our webpage https://mswellington.org.nz/about-us/new-news-page/thanks-to-glen-sullivan-and-wellingtons-gotham-knights/ page and will share any other photos we get too.
