The Day 'the Bangers' came to Parliament

On Thursday 27 March 2025 a few of us grabbed our orange MS T-shirts and headed to Parliament, to meet the Bangers and a couple of MSNZ reps who were coming to meet Minister of Health, Simeon Brown.

It was wonderful that some of our Committee were able to come along, President Steve McCloskey and Committee Member Nicky Louis), along with Ops team rep Suzie Linton and members including Val and Wayne Cameron and Sarndra Flay.

It's always wonderful to see other members and their were lots of other interesting people to chat to as well, including reps of Half Moon Bay Rotary and other Rotary Clubs, Infoodle, the Minister's Office and other Bangers to Bluff teams. We're waiting to get images of the group, there were a lot of people!

There were six eye-catching 'bangers' and their crew parked on the forecourt in front of the old Parliament Building steps.

We were joined by Minister of Health Simeon Brown who said a few words of support to the assembled crowd.

The Minister even offered to make the Banger's visit to Parliament an annual event! We hope we can use that to build the event up year-on-year.

After lots of mingling, the Minister invited MSNZ's National Manager Amanda Rose and the Bangers teams to his office to talk about MS and other related matters. MSNZ were keen to use the opportunity to advocate for new treatments and other issues of interest to the MS Community.

Take a look at the photos below. If we get sent any more we will add them to this page.

The Flower Power Gals, in their super-decorated car and fun outfits, said they were going to be fundraising hard for MS on the ferry tomorrow!  Even the back of the Flower Power Gals car was decorated.
