Multiple Sclerosis New Zealand (MSNZ) has announced that the Dorothy L Newman Scholarship which is available to assists people diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis to retrain or upskill has been opened for an extra round of applications.

The scholarships are available to people with MS who, due to their condition require retraining or upskilling to enhance their chances of securing or staying in paid employment. Successful applicants will be eligible for a financial contribution payable for their course fees with the amount awarded at the discretion of the Selection Panel. The Scholarship is co-funded by Multiple Sclerosis NZ (MSNZ) and the Dorothy L Newman Trust.

Each year the annual round applications closes on 31 October, however, they are opening a special round for those starting in the new year. Applications close 31 January 2024 so you need to be quick.

Applicants will be required to state the reasons why they chose their course of study, how they intend to use their qualification on successful completion of their course and the likelihood of employment following the course.
