MS Awareness Week 2025 Collection - 15 - 22 September 2025

We really enjoy MS Awareness Week each year, as it's a time when some of our WMS community come together to advance our mission, to enable people with MS to live their best lives.

Three generations of the wonderful Sinai family collecting in 2024. Clockwise from L: Diane, Christie and Winter

This year's MS Awareness Week will be held from 15 - 22 September 2025.

MS Awareness Week is our biggest opportunity to raise awareness about MS and fundraise to support our small charity, which needs to fundraise about 2/3rd of what it spends each year. So please get involved if you can, so Wellington MS can carry on enabling people with MS in greater Wellington to live their best lives.

This year's MS Awareness Week is themed ‘Time Matters in MS’. The campaign seeks to educate people about the possible early symptoms of MS so more individuals can recognise the signs, take action and get a timely diagnosis.

If you're able to help with this year's collection talk to your Community Advisor or email suzie@wellingtonms.org.nz.

About the MS Awareness Week Campaign and MSNZ

Our awareness week campaign is part of a national effort spearheaded by MSNZ. Each year, Multiple Sclerosis New Zealand runs a nationwide campaign to increase awareness of multiple sclerosis, a chronic condition affecting more than 5000 people in Aotearoa New Zealand. MSNZ aims to empower people with knowledge, advocate for better access to treatments and assist people to live well with MS.

In 2024 MSNZ launched a new 3-year campaign, focusing on recognising the early symptoms of multiple sclerosis and highlighting that time matters and that early diagnosis and treatment improves outcomes.

You can learn more about last year's MSNZ MS Awareness campaign on the MSNZ website at https://msnz.org.nz/events/awareness-week-2024-time-matters-in-ms/. I will post the link to this year's campaign when one becomes available.
