Late last year MS Wellington was contacted by Ella Connolly the partner of Marco Nannini a competitor in the Global Ocean Race asking if we could help Marco.

Marco had recently received a donation of money from the husband of an MS sufferer. Marco was at the time sailing the second leg of the Global Ocean Race and due to arrive in Wellington in the New Year.

The donor asked Macro and his team if they could create more awareness of and give more recognition to MS through the media capabilities Marco has on his website (www.marconannini.com) as well as place some sort of logo to put on the boat, or website.

We were very happy to be asked and over the Christmas break Hamish pulled together a logo suitable for the boat and had it sent to the printers.

The photo below is of Hamish Bockett-Smith with Marco Nannini after attaching the Wellington MS logo to the yacht, called Financial Crisis.

As well as the signage on the boat both Marco and Hamish were interviewed by the Global Ocean Race press office and subsequently produced a media release. This media release was published on the Global Ocean Race website and sent to many media outlets and the thousands of Global Ocean Race followers.
